Description:
Abstract:

We take a common screen or duster, such as are in common use by paper makers, and having taken out of it the shaft, we cause it to revolve on gudgeons made fast to its heads by means of a flange, and bolts. We then place in the interior of the screen, and extending from end to end thereof, four agitators, these are small cylinders, about six inches in diameter in which are inserted pins in number, and length according to the degree to which the operator may choose to agitate the rags.

Claim:

The aforesaid arrangement, and combination of the common screen or duster with the cylindrical agitators armed with pins rapidly revolving in various directions with the sun, and planet motion, constituting an improved machine for cleaning rags of dust for paper making.
