Vintage Machinery entry for McLagon & Smith
Description:
The assignee had for about 20 years been a partner in foundry and manufacturer McLagon & Stevens. That firm got into financial difficulty by 1873, and Stevens sold out to Henry Smith, the firm becoming McLagon & Smith. By the time this patent was issued, that firm was also in financial difficulty and soon went bankrupt, eventually being succeeded by the McLagon Foundry Co. We do not know who, if anyone, may have manufactured this paper-box machine.
