Description: |
According to the EAIA "Directory of American Toolmakers", "Fray was reported by his own name only, with the 'Co.', and with '& Co.'. He was probably also part of Fray & Pigg at some time. Besides making the Spofford patent (1 Nov. 1859, 25,984) brace, Fray had patents himself for a brace attachment (11 May 1869, 89,925) and a bit brace (20 Aug. 1872, 130,709). He made another brace with an 8 Jan 1889 patent (395,889)." This particular brace gets a "B" rarity rating in Pearson's book. |
