Description: |
This patent, for an "elastic strap for vests, pantaloons, or other garments requiring straps," was originally issued as patent 119,322 but was withdrawn and then re-issued under this number. The inventor is Samuel Langhorne Clemens, better known as Mark Twain. He was a great enthusiast of inventions and was granted three patents in his lifetime. His older brother, Orion Clemens, was the real inventor in his family, whose inventions included a small drilling machine and a wood sawing machine. But Orion never patented any of his inventions. |
