XC patents are Canadian patents issued between 1824 and 1869."It may be made of any kind of hard wood, of any dimensions and of any capacity. The wood to be sawed is steadied in the frame by dogs. The machine is moved by a crank, turned either by hand, horse, or steam power, which communicates with an iron driving shaft connected by a band to driving fly and pulley wheels, and the motion is communicated to a saw set in a horizontal sliding gate, and fixed in a sinking vertical frame." |
