Description: |
Hook jaw operated by a hand lever and connecting rod and linkage. Gear teeth on the shank adjacent to the fixed jaw carry the "strain" from the movable jaw to the shank.
Corresponding British patent GB-189619093 registered Aug. 29, 1896 and January 2, 1897 Canadian patent no. CA-54,476 also name Robert Norton of North Elmham, Norfolk, England -- probably an assignee.
The gear teeth carry over from Wilson's Oct. 23, 1894 patent no. 527,917. See also subsequent Apr. 29, 1913 patent no. 1,060,391. |
