Description: |
John C. Dewey - patent attorney
My invention relates to a holder for a scraper, such as is used by a carpenter or cabinet maker, for scraping and smoothing surfaces of wood, &c. The scraper consists of a thin plate of steel, having a sharpened scraping edge preferably formed by cutting the edge of the scraper off at right angles to the side so that the front edge forms the cutter and the depth of the cut is altered by changing the inclination of the blade by moving the top of the plate more or less to the front. The object of my invention is to provide a holder for the scraper, which holder is of simple construction and operation, and in which the scraper may be quickly secured, and be adjusted, as desired, and may also be held at any desired angle, relatively to the surface upon which the scraper is used.
