Description: |
This four-jaw chuck is a forerunner of the Millers Falls protect-spring chucks. There are two alternative arangements, one with cylindrical torsion springs acting as dowels to align the jaws inside their slots in the body of the chuck, or straight springs anchored in the body at one end and inside the ends of the jaws at their other ends. In the second case, solid dowels act to keep the jaws in alignment. The inventor anticipates the use of this design in a wide range of chuck capacities. |
