Description: |
Stockford's nut wrench carries over some features from his July 17, 1883 patent (no. 281,318). It has a spring which tends to close the movable jaw. It has a rocking piece within the movable jaw that can release the adjustment. The trigger on the movable jaw also releases or sets the adjustment.
Corresponding Canadian patent (no. CA-19,879) was issued Aug. 1, 1884.
Used in conjunction with Stockford's July 1, 1890 patent (no. 431,081) for a ratchet-action quick-adjusting nut wrench. One known example is marked, "B.F. STOCKFORD - PAT. & M.F.R. - STURGIS, MICH // PAT'D JULY 17, '83 - PAT'D OCT. 14, '84" |
