Description:
The overall crate opener tool was one of several similar styles produced by Bridgeport Hardware Mfg. Corp.

The focus of the patent is the side notch which functions as a "retaining band remover," as illustrated in the drawings.

Produced as the "HOOKER" crate tool. Subsequent advertising described the "side notch" as an auxiliary nail remover.
