Of his bit, Kelly says:
"It consists in providing the stock of the tool with the spur commonly used in center-bits, and on the opposite side with a cutter formed of a half convolution of a srew; also, in providing the elongaed point with a cutting-lip, the whole forming a more durable bit than any now in use, and easier to operate." |
