Description: |
| Of interest because the inventor had a couple of patents for woodworking machinery, including an important one for a traveling-bed planer. This invention, i.e., for a capstan, was featured on the front page of the 1849-08-04 issue of Scientific American. It had earlier won an award at the 1848 Fair of the American Institute. Assignee Edwin Allyn was a surveyor. |
