Description: |
Second patent for the Forstner bit and is described as an improvement over his earlier patent 155,148. Patent is for the inclined slots on the side of the cutter to improve efficiency and improvement in manufacturing by milling the slots to "facilitate the manufacture and lessening the expense." Known examples are marked with both patent dates and were apparently sold with a tubular brass guard to protect the cutting edge. |
