| Seen in an 1898 Hendrie & Bolthoff catalog, "Truax Improved Automatic Ore Cars". A brass nameplate has been seen: "The Truax Patented Automatic Ore Car / Pat'd Jan. 5 1892 . Aug. 27, 1895 . July 19, 1898 / Pat. in Canada June 21, 1898 / Mfg. by Globe Iron Works / Stockton, Calif." These plates are large and attractive, and have been reproduced. Originals sell for hundreds of dollars and it can be difficult to determine whether an example is a genuine original or a reproduction. |
