Description: |
The patent includes filling a portion of the body with non-conducting material, the semi-circular wooden handle and attachment plate with spring-loaded catch which firmly attaches the handle to the body of the iron.
The specifications also note Mrs. Potts' prior patent no. 103,501.
By the early 1880s, Enterprise Mfg. Co. of Philadelphia was advertising "Mrs. Pott's Patent" irons marked with this patent date and reissue date. Oct. 15, 1872. |
