| One exemple of this machine, seen in a Martin Donnelly auction, reads "The Wonder Rope Maker" plus the patent date. We have seen another example of this machine, which reads: "The New-Era Rope Machine / Keep Oiled / Pat. July 18 1911 / Continental Trading Corporation / Chicago U.S.A."
September 1915 Dun's Review, pages 70-71, has an article on "A Rope-Making Machine for Everybody's Use". It concludes, "The 'New Era' machine is moderate in price, and is shipped, well boxed, to any part of the world, with clear instructions for its use. Full particulars regarding it may be had from The Lee Sales Company, 927 Lee Bldg., Chicago, Ill., U. S. A."
The June 1916 Popular Mechanics, page 30, classified ad: ""State Managers Wanted. An unusual opportunity to secure state selling rights on the New Era Rope Machine, a specialty which sells to the farmer, for making rope out of binder twine. 25,000 machines sold.... New Era Manufacturing Co., Plymouth Bldg., Minneapolis." From the February 1916 Popular Mechanics, page 30: "Make Your Own Rope. Agents wanted everywhere for our New Era Rope Machine. Twenty-two thousand sold. If you are not making ten dollars per day write New Era Manufacturing Co., Plymouth Bldg., Minneapolis."
