Description: |
| The center of the scraper blade has a triangular hole corresponding to a triangular stud on the handle. The combination of curved and straight edges and different curved corners are intended to correspond to most of the surfaces scraped during maintenance of wooden ships. The specifications take note of an earlier patent for a scraper with three concave edges to scrape masts --(Pat. No. 26535, issued to R.N. Tate on Dec. 20, 1859). |
