Description: |
Abstract:
In centrifugal fans, as shown in Fig. 1, in which the blades a occupy but a small fraction of the diameter, a conical ring or shield e having a cylindrical flange e<2>, surrounding concentrically the inlet f, is attached to the ends of the blades remote from the supporting-disk b. The blade ends are cut or bent to the angle of the cone. The ring reduces eddy losses, and to it are attached the outer ends of the stays g. The inner ends of these tie-rods pass through eyes h, screwed into the boss c<2> on the driving-shaft d, so that angular adjustment. tensioning, and replacement of the eyes in case of breakage are facilitated. |
