Vintage Machinery entry for Alfred Weed & Co.
Description:
This machine's feed mechanism uses the previously raised "spur" to determine the size of the step it takes. The idea is that if a lighter hammer-blow is used, the machine will automatically cut the teeth closer together.

The inventor was superintendent of the Arcade File Works and this machine was likely used by them. They did not manufacture machinery for the use of other file makers.
