Jeff Joslin Vintage Machinery entry for Steel Art Tool Co. Vintage Machinery entry for Palmgren Steel Products, Inc.
|
Description: |
"My invention relates to cutting and boring tools... It has for its object to provide a new and improved milling tool for cutting an annular channel about a predetermined axis in a block or billet of steel preparatory to using a hollow drill in such channel to form an elongated core which subsequently be removed for purposes of analysis..."We strongly suspect that the inventor was Carl A. Palmgren; we know that Carl went by "Charles" when he was working for the Illinois Steel Co. between 1900 and 1917. We also know that he left Illinois Steel to work at Steel Art Tool Co. |
