Jeff Joslin Vintage Machinery entry for Arcalous Wyckoff
|
Description: |
The primary goal of this patent is to avoid some of the difficulties of heat treating the cutters, especially for hollow augers of larger diameters. The cutters are formed to the appropriate diameter, then segmented for the heat treating processes. The number of segments depending on the diameter. They are set in an iron ring/base, being secured by a "tongue-and-groove" arrangement as well as set-screws. Though slightly modified, the cutters' edges are to be substantially as found in Wyckoff's earlier patent 24773. |
