Description: |
One of the assignees of Henry Shaler's patent, 413972 of the previous year, Jennings looks for essentially the same effect with a bit of different configuration. The cutting lip and spur on one side of the bit are of conventional construction, while there is no spur on the other side and the cutting lip is at an oblique angle so its cutting path crosses that of the other lip. Again, the aim is to divide the chip and relieve the resistance inherent with the presence of the spur. |
