Description: |
| A machine or series of machines with dies and rollers form the fixed head and shank for a monkey wrench. Ken Cope's "American Wrench Makers 1830-1930" notes that Dodge and Wellington were listed in the 1867 Massachusetts Directory as wrench manufacturers. Their production included designs originally patented by George C. Taft, and subsequently used by L. Coes & Co. Dodge was a patent attorney.
Rice's parallel patent for forming wrench bars (no. 64,447) was issued May 7, 1867. |
