Description: |
| Quick-adjusting mechanism -- the adjusting rod is threaded on two sides and is locked to the movable jaw. At the top of the handle, a lever with threads on opposite sides of the center hole can engage or disengage from the rod with a quarter turn. When the movable jaw is fully open, the adjusting rod extends into a recess in the handle. Superceded by the design in pat. no. 554,991.
This design also received Canadian patent no. CA-45,560 on March 16, 1894. |
