Description:
A fairly indecipherable piece, combining several functions into a single gage. This tool can be used as a marking gage for irregular surfaces, a panel gage, a square, a bevel gage, trammels, and a divider. Unfortunately, the patent claims are so poorly described that I cannot make heads or tails of how it is actually supposed to accomplish these wonders.

The patent is an improvement on an earlier patent by the same inventor (45932), which was for a tool designed for marking off skirting board for stairs.
