Description: |
| Holder socket, with an internal "U" shaped spring retaining clip.
One known example appears on a 1/4" hex-drive flexible shaft extension for screwdriver or nut driver bits. It is marked U.S.A. PAT 4644831 ROC PAT 27181. The patent numbers also appear on the bit holder of KLENK ratcheting bit holders, etc.
Subsequent discussion identified some manufacturing and distribution history for KLENK "SELECT-A-BIT": " ... although we have been unable to pin down the exact little shop in Taiwan who was cranking these out, I think it's accurate and reasonable to say they were made IN Taiwan FOR (take your pick) Klenk, Innovative Tools Line (which became part of Klenk) and then later Everhard (after their acquisition of Klenk).
