Description:
The adjusting screw is behind the adjustable jaw, at the head end of the wrench. The adjusting screw has both left and right hand threads so the adjustable jaw will move quickly.

The "jog" in the main shank resulting from this construction was construed into a "jog bar" shank in the A.G. Coes & Co. wrenches of the 1870s -- see patent no. 122,108.
