Description: |
The patent is for a spring-tensioned self-adjusting pipe wrench. The back of the "hook jaw" extends toward the handle to form a thumb lever to open the jaw against the pressure of the tension spring.
To date (2024) no print confirmation this wrench was produced at the time has been found. A known unmarked hook jaw pipe wrench matching this design has a "clothespin" type wire spring which may be a replacement for an original flat spring.
