The comparable Canadian patent (no. CA-17,940) introduces another assignee. 
An example in the collection of the Muskegon Heritage Museum is marked "MADE BY NOVELTY IRON WORKS / MUSKEGON MICH." on one side and the patent date on the other. Pictured as #729 in "Antique & Unusual Wrenches," by Schulzes, where it is identified as "WILSON PIPE WRENCH," and other examples so marked are known.
