Description: |
Carriage axle nut with adjustable jaws. The three-lobed shape is to allow setting it on the ground with axle nut between the jaws with assurance the nut will not fall into the dirt. The wrench openings at the end of the arms are to fit other nuts common to such vehicles. That function is not made clear in the claims.
The DATAMP entry for corresponding U.S. patent 277,265 includes a better drawing. |
