Description:
Combination quick and screw adjust; the screw on which the adjusting knurl turns sets in oval slots; its position is held by springs. Notches in the adjusting worm have to align with stop pins to allow the worm to disengage from the rack teeth on the shank.

Fones had several patents for quick / screw adjust wrenches including 1,302,027, 1,458,474, 1,522,432 and 1,564,411.

The formation of FONES QUICK ADJUST Wrench Co. in the early 1930s likely represents an effort to bring these ideas to production.

This patent noted in the specifications in 1,458,474.
