Description:
Abstract:

Comprises a general arrangement of a traction engine propelled by an internal-combustion engine which is mounted in a frame similar to that used in steam traction engines, the engine b being carried between side plates a which are extended to carry the bearings of the shafts and gearing. The rear part, i, of the cylindrical shell, ordinarily the boiler shell, is formed as a fuel tank; and the front part, k, corresponding to the smoke-box, receives a radiator m. and a fan, l, driven from the engine. An extension r of the radiator, c, mounted directly on a spring fore-carriage, v, and the plates a are mounted on the rear axle through springs and equalizing-levers of the kind described in Specification 1775/03.

Claim:

In a traction engine propelled by an internal combustion engine which is mounted in a frame similar to that used in steam traction engines, the construction in which the engine is carried between side plates which are extended to carry the bearings of the shafts and gearing.
