Description:
The awl body holds a bobbin for the thread, and the design includes a tensioning device.

Mansell was one of the incorporators of the Fort Smith Novelty and Manufacturing Co., formed to make the awl in 1909. An undated flyer for the awl was issued by Ward & Mansell, Booneville, Ark.
