Description:
Kovar's story is he designed the harrow to help control "quack grass" which was a serious weed competitor in his region in Minnesota. The respective rows of teeth are spaced to thoroughly work the soil covered by the harrow's passage. Kovar had experience as a blacksmith and machinist, and formed a company at Owatonna, MN to produce his harrow, and the "Handy Andy" based on patent no. 951,025.
