Description:
A power hammer has been reported that is marked "The Airedale / Schofield & Mitchell / PAT N°315-15". The "315" is assumed to be a misreading or misprinting of "375", the number of this patent in the year 1915. Prior to 1917, British patent numbering was reset back to 1 at the beginning of each calendar year, and so a complete patent number must also specify the year.
