Abstract:
The object of our invention is to improve the machines employed to operate the drill in well-drilling machines, the drills employed being of that class known in the art as the "churn-drill".
Claim:
The combination, in a well-drilling ma-chine, of the mast B fitted with sheaves a, b, and c, operating lever C fitted with sheave d, and rope E from the spool D, passing over and under the sheaves a, b, c, and d, as described, for the purpose of imparting a churning motion to a drill attached to the free end of the rope E by means of a down-and-up movement of the free end of the lever C. |
