Description:
An ad in the August 1912 Machinery clearly shows this patent vise, manufactured by the Victor Vise Co. of 15-19 West Washington St., Springfield, OH. That company was owned by William U. Colthar, who died unexpectedly in January 1914. In 1916, Western Tool & Mfg. Co. acquired the assets of the Victor Vise Co. and rebranded the Victor vise line as "Champion" vises.
