Abstract:
This invention relates to internal combustion engines and refers more particularly to means for cleaning air supplied to the engine cylinders. A further object of the invention is to provide means for ventilating the crank case and to relieve back pressure in the crank case. The invention also provides a simply constructed device capable of manufacture in quantity production at .o relatively low cost for efficiently carrying out the above objects.
Claim:
An internal combustion engine comprising in combination an engine combustible mixture supplying device, a crankcase, a valve chamber communicating with said crankcase, said valve chamber having an opening extending longitudinally of the side of the engine, a cover assembly including an outer member provided with louvers opening rearwardly of the engine and an inner member substantially closing said valve chamber opening, said inner and outer memo hers forming a cover chamber, means forming a restricted communication between the cover chamber and crankcase for ventilating the latter, and means for supplying air from said cover chamber to the said mixture supplying device.
