Original application filed 11 Jan., 1943. Divided and this application filed 07 Apr., 1944. This application is a division of my co-pending application, Serial No. 472,020, filed January 11, 1943 which is now abandoned.

Abstract:

n object of this invention-is to provide a new and improved valve structure for the control of a pneumatic tool and arranged for foot actuation, so that both of the operator's hands are free for other work.

Claim:

In a foot controller for a pressure fluid actuated device, the combination of a base, a valve casing mounted on said base, said casing having therein a valve operable by linear motion to the operating positions, means comprising a resilient member biasing said valve to one of said positions, an actuating member movable linearly an adapted to effect movement of the valve again: the normal biasing force to the other of said or operating positions, said actuating member having a cam surface, an operating member providing a protecting cover for the valve casing and supported for rocking movement, and said operating member having a pair of cam surfaces there on in cooperative relation with the cam surface of said actuating member, one of the cam surfaces on said operating member being adapted to move said actuating member to effect operation of the valve, and the other of said cam surfaces on said operating member being adapted to hold said actuating member in a fixed position.
