Munn & Co.- patent attorneysMy invention has for its object to furnish an improved machine for drilling, boring, cutting screw-threads, &c., and which shall be simple in construction, convenient in use in either capacity, effective in operation, and readily plumbed and leveled after having been adjusted. The invention consists in the combination of the flanged table, the flanged base, the set-screws, and the bolts with each other, and with the frame of the machine; in the frame made in the form of a segment of a truncated cone, and made in two parts, provided at the adjacent ends with flanges to receive the bolts by which said parts are secured to each other adjustably; in the combination of the sliding tool-shaft, the swiveled gear-wheel, the small gear-wheel, the gearwheel and baud-pulley, the driving gearwheel, band and band-pulley, the double clutch, and the three-armed clutch-lever with each other, and with the frame and driving shaft in the combination of the studs, the cross-bar, the swiveled screw, the gear-wheels, the shaft, the star-wheel, the pin, and the bar with sliding tool-shaft, the frame, and the driving mechanism; in the combination of the crank and the pin with the swiveled screw, the sliding tool-shaft, and the gear-wheel; and in the tubular piece, the pivoted lever, the swiveled screw, the notched cutter, and the set-screw, in combination with each other and with the sliding tool-shaft. |
