Claim:
The herein-described explosive-engine comprising the housing, the upright cylinder, open at both ends, arranged upon, connected to and communicating directly with the housing having longitudinal slots at opposite points in its upper portion, the upright guide-tubes located at opposite sides of and fixed to the cylinder and communicating at their lower ends with the housing and having their upper ends open, the shaft journaled in suitable bearings in the housing and having cranks, lower and upper pistons arranged in the cylinder, a pitman connecting the lower piston and one crank, a crossbar connected to the upper piston and extending through the slots of the cylinder, crossheads arranged in the guide-tubes and rigidly connected with the extended portions of the cross-bar, and pitmen connecting the crossheads and cranks of the shaft. |
