Jeff Joslin Vintage Machinery entry for Noye Mfg. Co. (J. T. Noye)
|
Description: |
An 1886 catalog from J. T. Noye features "Noye's Improved Centrifugal Feeding Flouring and Grist Mill, patented December 1850." A search for grist or flour mill patents in that month revealed only two such patents (the other being 7,844). This patent to Joseph Walker of Cincinnati is a good match to the detailed description in the catalog, which highlights the centrifugal action that spreads the grain across the face of the bed stone, and the use of a gimbaled mount for the upper stone. |
