Description:
The patent describes a one-piece crank shaft and related bearing structure for bicycles. Fauber's one-piece pedal crank was widely used in bicycles after its introduction. Early notices name "Fauber & Norton" as producers. In 1901, Fauber's company moved to Elgin, IL.

The patent is referenced on combination hook and pin spanner wrenches designed to work with the bearings. Similar wrenches also reference a related sprocket wheet design patent (D31,194).
