Description: |
Abstract:
A centreless machine for grinding balls &c. consists of an annularly grooved grinding - wheel B, between which and a regulating-wheel C, movable to and from the wheel B either automati cally by gearing driver by a motor or by hand the balls 11 are fed from a container down tubes 12, the balls being fed singly, from each tube, as the wheel C is retracted from the wheel B. The feed is controlled by a trigger 15 pivoted to the tube and moved thereinto by a spring 18, a lug 21 on a finger 20 carried by the slide of the regulating-wheel serving to move the trigger to release a ball, the finger then retaining the next ball in position. The regulating wheel axis may make a small angle to the horizontal. |
