Description: |
Abstract:
A centreless machine'for grinding balls &c. consists of an annularly grooved grinding-wheel B between which and a regulating-wheel C adjustable by a screw D, the balls 14 are fed from a container down tubes 12, which are gapped at 15, 16 to allow the balls to contact with the wheels B, C. Within each tube is a slowly rotating star-wheel 11, which regulates the speed of descent of the balls in the tubes, and ejects them into a shoot 23; the balls, during grinding, are thus supported upon the balls lying between them and the star wheels. |
