Lynn was a hotbed of boot and shoe manufacturers, and the Lynn-based Gallagher made machinery for that market, including shears strongly resembling this patent drawing. In addition, the two witnesses were based out of a Boston patent office and these men were also witnesses on the Lynn-based Gallagher's patents, e.g., patent 341,803. The most likely explanation is that these Bernard Gallaghers are one and the same. |
