Description: |
The size adjusting means is enclosed in the "handle" rather than positioned at the end of the handle. A "cutout" in the handle has a number scale showing the relative size adjustment. The lock release is a "rolling lever" form in the movable lever handle.
Corresponding German patent DE1,710,956 (applied for Nov. 6, 1953; granted Nov. 17, 1955), Swiss patent CH327,835 and Canadian patent CA580,148 are in the ESPACENET database.
The patent cites U.S. patents 2,443,153, 2,463,721, 2,496,308, 2,519,973, 2,576,286, 2,598,650, 2,610,534, and 2,669,145 as references.
Plier wrenches of this form were produced in Europe and in subsequent years the style experienced a range of modifications and further stylistic evolution. |
