Description: |
This improvement to punch presses is particularly intended for presses that punch out circular holes or slots for forming motor rotor or stator cores. Typically, a single pair of dies punches one hole or slot at a time, and the press is cycled several times with automatic feed to produce a completed work-piece. This improvement allows the press to cycle very quickly, which is achieved by gearing up a clutch-controlled shaft to drive the punch, with corresponding improvements to the feeder. In general, reciprocating movements are replaced with rotary movements, the only exception being the punch-head itself. |
