Description:
Nova Scotia (NS) patents were issued between 1834 and 1867, when they joined with Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick to form the Dominion of Canada.

A "fog bell operated by a horizontal windmill that is powered by wind from any direction and has valves closed by violent gales to prevent unsafe action of the machinery (see patent No. 1 of New Brunswick for better drawing)."
