Nova Scotia (NS) patents were issued between 1834 and 1867, when they joined with Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick to form the Dominion of Canada.Another source ("The British North American Almanac and Annual Record For the Year 1864") has the inventor's given name as "Zenas"."...a chain of wrought iron links with planks 6" x 17" for one horse or 6" x 3'8" for two horses turns a large drum that drives the concaves of the thresher by means of a belt to a smaller pulley—a second belt from the concaves drives a vanning device—claimed also is the use of the horsepower for propelling boats, turning lathes or any other machinery that is necessary or convenient for it to be attached to..." |
